How does Insect Shield® work?Updated 17 days ago
Built-in protection: Insect Shield garments are treated with a proprietary permethrin formula that bonds directly and permanently to the fabric fibers, creating a durable defense that lasts the expected lifetime of the apparel—about 70-75 launderings.
Invisible and odorless: Once treated, the fabric remains completely odorless and invisible—there's no sticky residue, and nothing transfers to your skin .
How it repels insects: When bugs like mosquitoes, ticks, flies, or ants land on the treated fabric, the permethrin disrupts their nervous system, temporarily paralyzing them. This causes them to fall off and reduces the chance of biting .
EPA-registered & proven: Recognized by the EPA since 2003, Insect Shield has been extensively tested to repel a wide variety of biting insects—including disease-carrying species—and is registered to last for the lifetime of the garment .
